    Eldar Wang is a young bilingual writer. She is the author of “Please Don’t Be Too Astonished”, which won the Thirteen Villains Literature Award in 2021. Her first book Too Fond of Poetry: In the World (CITIC, 2021) is now available in bookstores and online platforms. It’s a collection of her columns on world literature in 2021. In 2022 and 2023, she will publish another 2 books with CITIC: Know China: All About Chu and Know China: Yangtze River, Yellow River. They will be collections of Wang’s writings on modern Chinese culture. In 2023, Eldar Wang was selected as the first McCall MacBain Scholar from China. Her scholar page:

    In 2017, Eldar Wang won the Shanghai New Writer Award with a series of short fiction on queer sexuality. Her other works were shortlisted for Shanghai Young Critics Award (2017), QinLang Young Writers Award (2019) and Millennium Bilingual Poetry Awards (2020, 2021). In 2022, she won the championship of the “Literature Comedy Contest” and became the youngest ambassador of Tencent Culture. By June 2022, her media appearance and public writings on multiple platforms have earned 1 million views in total.


    As a translator, Eldar Wang has published 4 book-length works. In 2020, she was invited to be the English-to-Chinese translator of the National Geographic best-seller, History at a Glance: Illustrated Time Lines From Prehistory to the Present Day. Eldar Wang is also the English-to-Chinese co-translator of Gertrude Stein’s Paris France
